| SOL-X SOLID STATE DETECTOR FOR D8 | Location: Karlsruhe |
| The Sol-X solid state detector is a energy dispersive X-ray detector suitable for X-ray diffraction experiments using energies between 2 keV and 30 keV. The Lithium drifted Silicon detector (Si(Li)) chip is cooled down to about -80°C by Peltier elements. The chip is mounted in a small vacuum reception having a Be entrance window for the incoming X-rays. The detector is mounted equivalent to a scintillation counter. The obtained count rate is transferred to the measurement electronics of the diffraction system. | |
